Erris Agricultural Show Health and Safety Policy
The Show Organisers, workers and volunteers will abide by the following rules which constitute it’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensuring a safe place of work for staff and volunteers at the show.
- Communicating policies both internally and externally.
- Ensuring the provision of a competent person(s) to advise on all health, safety and environmental matters.
- Provision of adequate measures for the control of risks associated with the show to improve safety standards.
- Ensuring venue suitability has been researched and planned accordingly including any temporary facilities.
- Provide Adequate resources, including time, people, equipment and finance to ensure the safe running of the show.
- Prevention of injury and ill health.
- Provide all required instruction, training, supervision and other relevant health and safety information to employees and volunteers.
- Alcohol consumption and/or the taking of drugs will not be permitted by any persons ‘working’ on behalf of the Show. Any persons found to be participating in either will have their employment with the show immediately terminated.
- Compliance with all pertinent applicable regulations, legislation, codes of practice and other requirements.
- Suitable with applicable agencies including Mayo County Council, An Garda Síochána and local residents in advance of the show.
This policy will be reviewed annually by management and where deemed necessary will be amended and re-issued. Previous versions of this policy are archived.
This policy is available to relevant interested parties, upon reasonable request
